Mr. Philip J. Wheelton, President and Chairman, has been the President of Promithian Global Ventures, Inc. since May 16, 2013. Mr. Wheelton has been the President of Promithian Inc., since January 1, 2001. He has over 25 years of experience as a private businessman and President of a number of publicly traded resource companies. In addition, he spent several years working in the North American securities industry with a number of Canadian investment firms. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Economy. Mr. Stephen Mooney, P.Eng., Director, Secretary, has been the Director of the Yukon Cold Climate Innovation Centre at Yukon College for the past three years. Mr. Mooney is a Canadian Technology and innovations specialist who guides the development, commercialization and export of sustainable cold climate technologies. He promotes the practical application of cold climate technologies for subarctic regions around the world. From 2002 to 2010, Mr. Mooney worked in telecommunications for Northwestel in product development, product management and marketing while designing and pricing various technologies across Northern Canada. Prior to that, he spent half a decade developing and implementing computer software throughout the United States. Mr. Mooney is a Professional Engineer registered with the Association of Professional Engineers of Yukon. He has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and has been certified in Professional Project Management. Mr. Craig A. Cyr, B. Eng, P.Eng., Director, is a senior mining engineer with over two billion dollars worth of mine acquisition experience. He has provided project management and consulting services to mining industry clients in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Mr. Cyr’s technical and project management experience includes mine design, planning, optimization; as well as, production cost estimating, mine permitting, regulatory compliance, and subsurface investigations. Mr. Cyr provides senior management level advice during target mine acquisitions; including but not limited to, reserve estimates, operations, environmental, regulatory, and financial due diligence covering targeted mining operations. Mr. David Garbrecht, MS Geology, Director, has over thirty years experience in the mining business, as an exploration geologist, mine geologist, and a logistics and organizational change leader. Mr. Garbrecht holds a BS in geology from the University of Wyoming and a MS in Geology from the University of Nevada, McKay School of Mines. David has been employed by Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation since 2005. David has acquired a wealth of experience in Western United States; Liberia, West Africa; Rio Tinto Brazil; and at Bingham Canyon, Utah porphyry copper mine. Mr. Garbrecht has most recently been an instructor and mentor for Six Sigma and Lean training for Rio Tinto North America. Trainees included: business improvement, marketing, lab, human resources, information support and technologies, operations, sustainable development, finance, legal, reliability, operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, C&ER, and all levels of management. David has also been the Manager of Business Improvement Projects for Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper refinery, tailings and water services.
Dr. Hal B. Cooper, PhD., P.E., Director, is a professional Civil Engineer and a globally recognized specialist in energy and transportation infrastructure and project development. Mr. Cooper has been responsible for energy and transportation project planning in Texas, North Dakota, California, Canada, China and Russia. Dr. Cooper has served as an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University and an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He has authored five books, 150 articles, 116 reports and 11 technical bulletins. In addition to serving as the President of Texas Railroad Transportation Company, Dr. Cooper has worked as a Consulting Engineer at Courtland Engineering Corporation and a Supervising Engineer at Brown and Caldwell Consultants in Seattle, Washington. He is presently the principal of Cooper Consulting Company located in Kirkland, Washington. Dr. Cooper received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and holds both a Master and doctorate in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Leila Miganei, PhD., Director holds a PhD. in Environmental Engineering from the Clausthal University of Technology (CUT) in Clausthal, Germany. Ms. Miganei received a three-year doctoral scholarship from Wilhelm-Schumann-Stiftung, Penneberg, Germany. Ms. Miganei was formally a Research Associate at the Institute of Mineral and Waste Processing, CUT, Clausthal, Germany. Leila Miganei “developed process engineering steps for … electronic scrap recycling to generate high quality copper and precious metal concentrates”. Leila Miganei has published seven articles on her work, so far. Leila is presently the principle of Miganei Consulting Company located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
